Description:

Reporting to the General Manager, this position supervises and directs all activities in the Fixed Operations Departments, including the Service, Parts and Collisions Operations.  The position works closely with Service and Parts staff in delivering maintained, repaired and safe vehicles, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction and overall department success.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct and lead all aspects of the Service, Parts and Collision operation
  • Implement all systems, scheduling and procedures in the Service Department
  • Maintain a high profitability in all areas and keep all departmental expenses under strict control
  • Maintain a high customer satisfaction percentage rating at all times
  • Maintain high profitability in all areas and keep departmental expenses under strict control
  • Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) percentage rating at all times
  • Monitor and maintain all A/P and A/R relating to the Service Department
  • Forecast, target and track monthly sales, profits and expense objectives
  • Maintain and track marketing and promotional programs
  • Plan department objectives, jointly with the General Manager
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to solicit new customers and maximize retention of existing customers; manage Customer Retention Program
  • Recruit, hire, train and coach the sales staff
  • Maintain and participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee as required by law

 

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • Strong management aptitude
  • Excellent customer service skills ensuring that the service team performs effectively and that customers are satisfied
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of most domestic and imported cars
  • Excellent people management skills; demonstrating an ability to organize the work, deliver excellent customer service, commanding the respect of the team while remaining well liked and effective
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to ensure healthy & safety standards are observed in line with provincial health & safety regulations
  • Ability to take ownership of problems with a positive attitude and bring them to completion
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under all circumstances to deliver exceptional service to customers
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant service management experience in a busy automotive service environment
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a management or supervisory role
  • Three (3) years experience as a licensed Automotive Service Technician, preferred
  • Three (3) years experience as a Service Advisor/Consultant, preferred
  • Dealership experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License for province of employ
